    Molecor achieves the first product certification for the ecoFITTOM® PVC-O fittings

    Molecor in its commitment to excellence, innovation and internationalization, and in its continuous process to develop efficient solutions for the conveyance of water under pressure, became a world leader overcoming technological barriers and developing the exclusive technology capable of manufacturing ecoFITTOM® Oriented PVC fittings.

    The quality of the ecoFITTOM® PVC-O fittings is demonstrated wiht the AENOR Product Certificate N Brand according to the Spanish Standard UNE-CEN/TS 17176-3:2019 (CEN/TS 17176-3:2019) "Plastics piping systems for water supply and for buried and above ground drainage, sewerage and irrigation under pressure - Oriented unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-O) - Part 3: Fittings", published on 26 December 2019.

    The ecoFITTOM® PVC-O fittings are manufactured according to the Spanish standard UNE-CEN/TS 17176-3, based on the new European Standard EN-17176 that has been developed by the European Standardization Committee CEN/TC 155 "Plastics piping systems and ducting systems", within the WG8 working group, in which Molecor has participated as a technical expert representing the Spanish standardisation committee of UNE (Spanish Standardization Association).

    The UNE-CEN/TS 17176-3:2019 standard is the great novelty. Until now, there was no standard for PVC-O fittings, given its non-existence on the world market until the launch of the technological development for the production of Molecor’s ecoFITTOM® fittings.

    The ecoFITTOM® PVC-O fittings are manufactured in a wide range of nominal diameters (DN) 110, 160, 200, 250, 315 and 400 mm in 16 bar nominal pressure. They can be used in networks for the transportation of drinking water, irrigation systems, industrial applications, sewage, infrastructure networks, fire protection nets, among other applications.



    With ecoFITTOM® Molecor offers a continuous and uniform system in PVC-O; this guarantees the same hydraulic and mechanical properties in the different elements of the network, both in the pipes and in the fittings, as well as the total quality of the transported liquid, since ecoFITTOM® is immune to corrosion and to the chemical aggressions of mirco- and macro-organisms, thus complying with the health standards for water intended for human consumption.

    This suitability is also corroborated with the obtaining of European health certificates, such as the ACS (Attestation de Conformité Sanitaire)

    Moreover, the ecoFITTOM® PVC-O fittings are fully compatible with PVC-U pipes (EN 1452) and other pipes material.

    The European Union has recognized the use of innovative materials and technologies in the for manufacturing and processing of ecoFITTOM® fittings and these has awarded them for their quality and efficiency. They have also obtained recognition for the Outstanding Technical Novelty that has meant in the market within the Smagua2017 edition.

    The Eco-Friendly ecoFITTOM® fittings produced by Molecor have been designed following major environmental policy challenges in the EU, including the study of the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) that shows its excellent environmental performance throughout its life cycle, showing its lowest environmental impact and its best contribution to sustainable development.

    ecoFITTOM® PVC-O fittings, exclusively manufactured worldwide by Molecor, shows the best technical and economic alternative for the design in networks of pressurized water pipes.
